At Freefall, we go by the four 'P's of training. "Play, Praise, Pratice, and Patience."

We live by this motto during training and testing, that with the right amount of each, as an owner, you will get the dog you deserve. A trainer who cuts corners on these four pillars of our motto deserves what they get. We will not house your dog outside, as all of our dogs reside inside. THEY LAY ON OUR COUCHES, BEDS, AND ON THE FLOOR AT OUR FEET AFTER A HARD DAY'S WORK!

Now, should you decide to bring your pup or dog out training, the first lesson we will call "base level", which is the session that I manage to gauge the level that your dog is at, see the personality and introduce them to birds. Depending on the prey drive of the dog and the overall personality, we will work on finding birds in the field and introducing the 'whoa' command. It's all about baby steps, and each and every lesson we will go back to the last thing that the dog has learned or has experienced, making building blocks for each new lesson. I will bring one of my dogs (or two, depending on how much time I have), so that your dog can get used to running with another dog in the field as training progresses. Socialization is important for your hunting dog, especially if there is another dog there. I also bring my dogs out as demos to help portray what I want to accomplish with your dog in the next few sessions of training, and if you plan on teaching backing.

I am not a trainer that takes your dog from you and trains it. I have done this a few times already, and even though I believe it's easier for the trainer, it does not make it easier for the dog or you. I believe that training should be geared towards you and your dog. I encourage you to come out and work with your dog, all you have to do is give me a call, my schedule is relatively flexible.

Prices are standard, and because I cannot just know where to start training with you and your dog, "base level" is all about fun, as it should be. After that, each lesson is $40/hour plus the current going rate for birds (roughly $5). Each session I will have a list of things I wish to accomplish with you and your dog, depending on the time you have available. I have a pretty flexible schedule especially after summer begins, so anytime is perfect. I prefer to work early in the mornings while it is still cool and wet outside (especially during the summer months and especially with puppies). Each lesson will be a different sort of new experience you and your dog will learn. I want you to walk away with "homework" after each session, for something you can do at home with the dog. Training will never stop even when the dog is older, either so why should it stop when training on birds ends?
